How to Measure Rim and Tire Size to Ensure a Perfect Match
Step 1: Measure the Rim Diameter
The first step is to measure the diameter of the rim. To do this, you’ll need a tape measure or a ruler. Start at the edge of the rim on one side and measure straight across to the opposite edge. This give you the diameter of the rim.
Step 2: Measure the Rim Width
The next step is to measure the width of the rim. You’ll need to measure the distance between the inside of the rim on one side to the inside of the rim on the other side. Be sure to measure at the widest point of the rim.
Step 3: Measure Tire Diameter
Measuring the diameter of the tire is crucial, To determine the tire diameter, you’ll need to measure from one edge of the tire to the opposite edge, passing through the center of the tire. Be sure to measure when the tire is fully inflated and has no load on it.
Step 4: Check Tire Size
Once you’ve determined the diameter of the tire, you’ll want to make sure that it matches the size of the rim. The size of the tire is typically located on the sidewall and is noted as a series of numbers and letters.
